Tassi O’Neil and the team at the Tillamook County Clerk’s Office still have 20 days to certify the results. As it stands, I solidly sit in Garibaldi City Council’s second open seat. Assuming all the signatures line up, I will wind up serving our fishing village as a councillor for the next four years.
Centuries from now, history books, classes, and anthropologists will discuss this election season. After traversing all those peaks & valleys, we have arrived. I happily owe a million and 249 “Thank Yous” to everyone who helped me fulfill a dream of following in my family’s footsteps in serving our community. To those who didn’t get to meet me in person but still took the chance, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Since actions speak louder than words, I will bring my all, day in and day out to help our city to be the best “authentic fishing village” it can be.Β
As we know, our City has many beautiful treasures yet to uncover, and many foothills to climb in order to discover & recover them. We’ll want to share some of those prizes with the world. Other riches, we’ll want to keep for ourselves. It’s going to be quite the adventure, and I’m looking forward to the hike.
Onwards, together.
Katie Findling
City Councillor-elect
City of Garibaldi, Oregon
